• CGV welcomes back SFP successful applicants and Brian Lynch for an end-of-year reception

Yesterday saw the Celestial Green Ventures office filled with people as we held an end of year reception that welcomed the familiar faces of our Social Funding Programme’s successful applicants and The Amazon Runner, Brian Lynch.

The reception was held in celebration of everything our guests have achieved in 2014 and was a chance for everyone involved to share their progress since last seeing one another.

Representatives of successful Social Funding Programme applicants shared their stories as to how they have progressed in their organisations and their plans for 2015, whilst Brian Lynch answered questions about his jungle experience and spoke of his plans to run a 100 mile trail path in the Colorado Desert.

As a Christmas token, some guests even brought gifts for the CGV office that represented their projects. Sophia’s Childcare Resource Co-Ordinator Mary Gilton brought in a magnificent decoration that was made with plants grown as part of the organisation’s gardening project and Depaul Ireland’s Mairéad Murphy and Kristina Moody presented the CGV team with a collage of photographs that showed a collection of all the fantastic events they have held this year.

“Hearing first-hand how everyone has advanced this year was a real delight for us and being able to share that experience with them has been an honour for Celestial Green Ventures,” CGV’s General Manager Paula Torres commented.

Brian’s friend Ciarán Kelly (no relation to CGV’s CEO of the same name) also attended the event and was able to learn more about the work going on by these organisations. Ciarán was so moved by everyone’s dedication to helping others that he has decided to volunteer in a shelter in Dublin, where he will be serving soup and sandwiches to the homeless.

All attendees’ commitment is an inspiration to others and Celestial Green Ventures would like to thank them for joining us in celebration of their 2014 achievements. Here’s to 2015!
