Ciaran Kelly, Celestial Green Ventures CEO, visited in April 2013 the Trocano Araretama Conservation Project Area, in the Municipality of Borba, Brazil. The purpose of Mr. Kelly’s visit was to personally meet with Mayor José Maria da Silva Maia, known as Baia, who was newly-elected in November 2012 and sworn in January 2013.
This was particularly appropriate timing, as the project received third party validation in March 2013. On the occasion of the visit, Mr. Kelly also met with the Municipality representatives and the members of the local communities to discuss the implementation of the project since June 2011, when it officially started.
Accompanied by the Institute Amazônia Livre team, Celestial Green Ventures partners in Brazil, Ciaran Kelly visited many communities and spoke about the livelihood benefits that can be achieved through the implementation of the Trocano Araretama Conservation Project.
