In 2014, Celestial Green Ventures selected five projects to receive funding as part of our Social Funding Programme. Depaul Ireland’s ‘Tus Nua Project’ was one of the successful applications.
Battle. Clash. Conquer.
Those are the words that CGV will take on-board as they sail down Dubin’s River Liffey as part of the Depaul Raft Race 2014.
Depaul believes that homelessness has no place and it supports people who are homeless or at risk of becoming so. In order to raise funds for the organisation, they have organised a fundraising event for teams of 4 to ‘raft race against homelessness’. The event will see the teams compete against one another in home-made rafts to become the victors.
The CGV team will comprise of Antonio Fernández, Leah Gainey, Sâmara Assef and Simon Griffin, who are all ecstatic to be able to join in. “Everybody is really excited about the race. It will be a lot of fun to take part in, as well as support Depaul Ireland’s cause,” explained Simon. Antonio is also looking forward to the race, however has some reservations about getting wet.
“I am very excited about Depaul’s Raft Race, and I am confident that we will be the victors!” he said. “But I really hope that I don’t fall into the river.”
Depaul Ireland’s Raft Race 2014 will take place Sunday 28th September in the Liffey Basin between 11am and 4pm. The organisation encourages everyone to come along to support them in their race against homelessness, where there will be music, prizes and entertainment.
